Here’s a short list of elements contained in the proposed settlement between Bishop Estate and Kaiser, on the one hand, and the City and County of Honolulu on the other:<\/p>\n
At Golf Course 5 and 6:<\/p>\n
This 30-acre area is turned over to the city, to be used for park purposes.<\/p>\n
At Queen’s Beach:<\/p>\n
A golf course, with club house, restaurant, and pro shop, is planned for this area, straddling the state-owned road to Makapu`u Head which bisects it.<\/p>\n
At Golf Course 2\/1A:<\/p>\n
A 150-room hotel, a business park, and up to 45 residences are planned to be built on about 50 acres here.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere in East O`ahu:<\/p>\n
Over the next 20 years, Bishop Estate and Kaiser will have the right to develop any and all of the following projects:<\/p>\n
* Six and a half acres of commercial development extending from the Marina opposite Maunalua Bay Beach Park along Keahole Street, running between Keahole Street and the lagoon);<\/p>\n
* 176 apartment units at the base of Kalama Valley, fronting Hawai`i Kai Drive;<\/p>\n
* 510 apartments at Kamilonui 1 (along Hawai`i Kai Drive);<\/p>\n
* A mix of 364 single-family houses and townhouses at Kamilonui 2 (extending above Kamilonui Valley, to the 300-foot contour). Access to these houses would be via a linkup to Hawai`i Kai Drive;<\/p>\n
* Five new houses along Hawai`i Kai Drive, just east of Kamilo Valley (to be called Kamilo Ridge);<\/p>\n
* 75 new houses at Marina 4B (along Keahole Street to Hawai`i Kai Drive);<\/p>\n
* Mau`uwai Valley (east of Kalama Valley) would be developed with 143 exclusive single-family houses to be built above the Hawai`i Kai Executive Golf Course, at elevations as high as 600 feet;<\/p>\n
* Queen’s Rise (east of Mau`uwai) is to be the site of 194 houses, up to the 400-foot contour.<\/p>\n
